Both printers use ink cartridges to print your documents. The difference however lies on how they use the ink. Laser printers are used best on formal and important documents as they do not blot when soaked in the water. Inkjet printouts meanwhile blot and stain when a liquid falls on their surface.

If you are going to use it for personal needs, then you may go as well for an inkjet printer. First, it is way cheaper than a laser printer. Laser printers meanwhile are heavy duty and last longer than inkjet prints.
3. Miscellaneous uses
Some inkjet printers and laser printers are used on other prints such as T-shirt printing, acetate and non-paper printouts. If you intend to use your printer on these things, then you should opt for a laser printer instead. Laser printers provide long-lasting prints and can produce a great number of printouts, thus helping you save on money and ink.
